ZONE IDENTIIFICATION
CORE ZONE 核心区 - 109.38 ha

THE HISTORIC CITY OF George Town covers an area of 109.38 hectares bounded by the Straits of Melaka on the north-eastern cape Penang Island,Lorong Love (Love Lane)
to the North-West and Gat Lebuh Melayu and Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong to south-west corner.

There are more than 1700 historic buildings within this core zone align on the four main streets of :

1) Pangkalan Weld

2) Lebuh Pantai

3) Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling

4) Lorong Love (Love Lane)

and several perpendicular streets of Jalan Tun Sheh Barakbah,Lebuh Light,Lebuh Bishop,Lebuh Gereja,Lebuh China,Lebuh Pasar,Lebuh Chulia,Lebuh Armenian and Lebuh Acheh.

PROTON

Proton is a Malaysian automobile manufacturer headquartered in Shah Alam, Selangor, with a manufacturing plant in Tanjung Malim, Perak. Founded in 1983, it was Malaysia's only carmaker until the establishment of its competitor and arch-rival Perodua in 1993. Its name is a Malay acronym for PeRusahaan OTOmobil Nasional (English: National Automobile Enterprise).
It is a core member of Proton Holdings Berhad, the holding company which is listed on Bursa Malaysia. Over 42% of its equity is owned by a government-owned company Khazanah Nasional Berhad, making it government-linked. For more than a decade since its establishment, this stake was jointly owned by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation until they sold its stake in that company.

PERODUA

The PERusahaan Otomobil KeDUA Sendirian Berhad (English: Second Automobile Manufacturer Private Limited), usually abbreviated to Perodua (pronounced /pəˈrɒdjuːa/), is Malaysia's second automobile manufacturer after Proton. It was established in 1993 and launched their first car, the Perodua Kancil in late 1994. The shareholders of Perodua are UMW Corporation Sdn Bhd with 38% stake, Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd.
